Mick Hanson, construction director of Hampshire-based 5* HBF housebuilder Bargate, has become a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building, enabling him to use the post nominal MCIOB.
Mr Hanson has worked at Bargate for six years and has over 35 years of experience in the construction industry. While continuing to manage a large team, Mick has worked towards the MCIOB accreditation, via the professional review route. He has been a long-standing member of the Chartered Membership Programme, which led to presentations on 12 modules, including contractual obligations, people development, sustainability and environmental practices in construction, technical matters, and health, safety, welfare and wellbeing.

Mick has introduced several programs and initiatives to Bargate, which was established in 2006 and has delivered over 100 quality residential developments across the South Coast region. These include an innovative platform – created by Mick himself – for project delivery and monitoring with sales/build integration, named the ‘Unique Project Management Platform’. Mick has also been a key driving force for Bargate’s involvement in the Women in Construction program, which welcomes women onto placements in construction-based roles.
