Introducing a panel of experts headlining the upcoming Homebuilding & Renovating Show, scheduled for 19-21 Sept, at Excel, London. The speakers are available for interviews, commentary and insights on a range of topics as highlighted below.
A new generation of female experts is transforming the way we think about building, renovating, and living in our homes. At this year’s event, four women with distinct but complementary specialisms will share how planning, design, renovation, and landscaping are no longer separate disciplines, but part of a holistic approach to creating homes that truly work for modern life:
- Jo Dyson – Property Renovator and Co-Founder, Mae House Design. Jo is a serial property renovator, relishing the challenge of taking a tired, lack-lustre property and realising its potential. She specialises in home organisation and space planning, offering practical advice on storage solutions, creating efficient living spaces and inspirational bathroom design ideas.
- Julia Kendell – Interior Design Expert, Kendell+Co. Julia is a celebrated interior designer with a focus on creating functional and beautiful living spaces. She can provide commentary on interior design trends, space optimisation, and DIY design solutions.
- Lucy Willcox – Garden Designer at www.lucywillcoxgardendesign.com. Lucy is a professional garden designer with a passion for creating beautiful and functional outdoor spaces, recently featured in ‘Alan Titchmarsh’s Gardening Club’. She provides insights into garden planning, plant selection, and sustainable landscaping practices.
- Sally Tagg – Planning Expert, Founder of Foxley Tagg Planning. Sally is a planning consultant with deep knowledge of the UK’s planning system. She can offer guidance on planning permissions, regulations, and navigating the planning process.

- Michael Holmes – Multifaceted Property Expert, Chair of the National Custom and Self Build Association (NaCSBA). He can provide analysis on market trends, renovation advice, and property investment, but also extension guides, tips on working with an architect and designing your dream kitchen.
- Paul Testa – Energy Expert, founder of HEM Architects. Paul has been at the forefront of low energy and Passivhaus standards since setting up his practice in 2010, developing a reputation for exceptional and sustainable design and for an ability to gain planning on tricky sites where others have failed.
- Tim Phillips – Quantity Surveyor, Founder of Quantiv. Tim is an experienced quantity surveyor who can provide insights into cost estimation, budgeting, and financial management for building projects. He also has extensive experience of undertaking his own full-scale house renovations.
