Golden Lane Housing achieves highest regulatory ratings

Golden Lane Housing has achieved the highest possible ratings from the Regulator of Social Housing following its recent inspection, which recognise the organisation’s strong performance across governance, financial resilience and the quality of services delivered to tenants.

Golden Lane Housing attained the top ratings of G1 for governance, V1 for viability and C1 for consumer standards.

Importantly, the C1 consumer grading is the first time the organisation has been assessed against this standard, which was introduced in April 2024. It reflects the extent to which Golden Lane Housing provides safe, secure and well-maintained homes, alongside its collaborative approach to working with tenants, demonstrated through the quality of its communication and how effectively it listens, engages and acts on feedback to improve service delivery.

Steve Secker, Chair of the Board, said
:

“This is an important moment for Golden Lane Housing. Achieving the highest possible ratings reflects the dedication of our colleagues and demonstrates our commitment to maintaining safe, high-quality homes that meet tenants’ needs.

“As a provider of homes that enable people with a learning disability and autistic people to live independently, this judgement recognises the quality and consistency of our work.”

Golden Lane Housing works with partners across the country to provide specialist supported housing, helping people live in their own homes at the heart of their community and with the right support.

The organisation has continued to strengthen its focus on tenant safety, engagement and service quality, with tenants playing a central role in shaping services.

Mark Johnson, Chair of the Board and Tenants Working Together Committee, said:

“Tenants have an important voice at Golden Lane Housing. I’m pleased to have had the opportunity to speak to the Regulator about how tenants help shape services at Golden Lane Housing. We work together to make things better and help people feel safe and listened to. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together.”

John Verge, Chief Executive, said:

“I am immensely proud of today’s judgement. I would like to thank our tenants, whose voices continue to shape what we do and how we improve and our colleagues who deliver this work every day. This result reflects that shared effort.

“We are proud of what this says about Golden Lane Housing. We will continue to build on these strong foundations and reaffirm our commitment to raising expectations for what great supported housing should look like.”
