Sliding doors are great for their sleek design and practicality, and provide a versatile solution for connecting indoor and outdoor spaces. Locations onto patio and garden areas, balconies, or roof terraces are particularly suited, especially where space is at a premium. And because it’s possible to make sliding doors much wider than their hinged cousins, they are especially effective for maximising daylight, creating bright interiors and providing extensive views.
Across the VELFAC range every system follows the same principles: composite wood/aluminium framing providing robust, long-lasting functionality, refined detailing and a clean, modern aesthetic.
We’re best known for VELFAC 200 – our slimline system with distinctive 54mm floating frames. These slim sightlines are identical for all windows, patio doors, and sliding doors, allowing designers to create a contemporary feel across the whole project. Our VELFAC 200 sliding doors are available as a 2-pane configuration with a single slider, or a 4-pane configuration with bi-parting central sliders. Sizes up to 3m in width for 2-pane, and 6m for 4-pane are possible, providing elegant solutions for significant openings.
Where a sliding door is required for locations with more traffic or requires access from outside to in, we can offer the VELFAC Ribo sliding door. This system has a simple in-line operation, and can be fitted with an external handle and key operated cylinder to allow entrance from outside. This system can achieve widths up to 3.6m and is suited to all styles of modern architecture.
If a truly impressive sliding door is required, then look no further than the VELFAC Signature sliding door. Our new system has been designed to cater for openings up to 4.8m in width and 2.5m in height with full PAS24 / Part Q compliance. It features a minimalist design with narrow angled framing, affording an impressive inflow of light and enhancing external views.
