Meadfleet has been named winner of the Biodiversity and Nature Award at the Unlock Net Zero Awards 2026, recognising its commitment to enhancing biodiversity and supporting sustainable communities across the residential developments it manages.
Meadfleet manages more than 545 acres of open space across 350 residential developments in England and Wales, using long-term management plans to support thriving environments for both people and wildlife.
Buzz & Flutter, Meadfleet’s biodiversity programme, has been central to this achievement. Building on the company’s award-winning Bee Friendly campaign, it delivers practical habitat improvements such as native tree and hedgerow planting, species-rich wildflower areas, wildlife features and community engagement initiatives.
Residents, schools and local organisations also play an important role, taking part in planting events, educational activities and biodiversity projects that help bring Meadfleet’s nature recovery work to life throughout the year.
The award reflects the dedication of Meadfleet’s teams, partners and residents, and reinforces the company’s ongoing commitment to creating greener, healthier communities where both people and wildlife can thrive.
