Cameron Homes has been granted planning approval by Rushcliffe Borough Council for a second phase of its Sylvan development in the historic Nottinghamshire village of Ruddington. Five executive villa-style residences will be constructed, each to be priced well in excess of £1million.
To be known as ‘The Croft’, the new phase of development will be accessed off Loughborough Road, via a separate gated entrance.
Ranging in size from 2,390 to 3,522 sq ft, three of the houses will have four bedrooms – with multiple en-suites and glamorous living and entertaining space – with the rest being five-bedroom designs. The elegant, detached homes will be launched onto the market next year.
The 0.49ha (1.21-acre) site has been designed for Staffordshire-headquartered Cameron Homes by Pegasus architects to complement the adjacent £18m Sylvan development and the existing local vernacular. The five new properties will each boast generous rear gardens, a double garage, three additional parking spaces and visitor parking. The new homes will be within walking distance of Ruddington’s shops, restaurants, amenities, schooling and visitor destinations, including three museums.
Emily Christie, Head of Planning for Cameron Homes, said: “Ruddington boasts the accolade of being named among the UK’s best places to live in the annual guide by Muddy Stilettos. The sought after-village is also conveniently situated for Nottingham Forest’s training ground and stadium, so it’s a popular residential neighbourhood with players, coaches and management.
There is a community orchard next to the Sylvan development, and two areas of public open space are being formed within the development boundary, creating a strong sense of place and providing habitats for local wildlife. 12 bat boxes, 26 hedgehog highways and 36 swift boxes are also being installed to enable endangered species to thrive.
The Croft and Sylvan are three miles from West Bridgford, six miles from Nottingham city centre, nine miles from East Midlands Parkway train station, 10 miles from Loughborough, and only a 20-minute drive to East Midlands Airport. Nottingham train station is under five miles from the development and easily accessible via public transport.
Established in 1994, Cameron Homes is currently delivering over 200 homes across 11 live developments and has a pipeline of future sites expected to deliver circa 1,000 new homes.
