Construction completed at residential development in Bude

Cornish housebuilder Legacy Properties has completed construction at Upton Green, its 25-home development on the edge of Bude, with just three homes now available for sale.

The completion marks the latest milestone for the family-owned Cornish housebuilder following strong demand for the development, which combines contemporary, energy-efficient homes with a coastal location just 500 metres from the North Cornwall coastline.

Upton Green includes a mix of open-market and affordable homes, with the latter delivered in partnership with Westward Housing to support local housing need.

The development offers direct footpath access into Bude town centre and its beaches, allowing residents to walk straight from their front door and follow the canal route or coastal path into town. Summerleaze Beach, Bude Sea Pool and the South West Coast Path are all easily accessible, while Widemouth Bay and the wider North Cornwall coast are nearby.

The available homes are four- and five-bedroom detached properties, with prices from £525,000 including a garage and private parking.

Mark Docherty, Sales Director at Legacy Properties, said: “Completing Upton Green is another proud milestone for Legacy, with the development also marking the delivery of our 250th home in Cornwall. It has been incredibly popular from the outset, with more than half of the open-market homes reserved within weeks of launch. We’re now down to the final three houses.

“The location has been a huge part of its appeal. Being able to leave your front door and walk directly down the coastal path and into Bude is pretty special, but buyers also want a home that works for everyday family life. Upton Green brings those things together, with generous living spaces, energy efficiency and the high specification people have come to expect from Legacy.”

Homes at Upton Green have been designed for energy-efficient living, with EPC-A ratings, discreetly integrated solar PV panels, and air-source heat pumps providing underfloor heating to the ground floor. EV charging points are also included.

Inside, the specification includes British-built contemporary kitchens with stone worktops, integrated Miele appliances and wine coolers, alongside Bluetooth ceiling speakers, oak internal doors, Karndean flooring and contemporary bathrooms.

Established in 2010, Legacy Properties is a family-owned, multi-award-winning Cornish housebuilder based near Newquay. The company has delivered more than 250 homes across Cornwall. Current live developments include: Par, Pentewan Valley, Bude, Trispen and Goonhavern, with more than 200 additional homes in its pipeline over the next three years.
