Work has officially started on Hedhas Tewynnow, Treveth’s new development of 40 homes at Connor Downs, near Hayle.
Treveth has appointed Sureflow Building Services as the contractor to deliver the development, which will provide a mix of Affordable Rent, Open Market Rent, Shared Ownership and Open Market Sale homes.
The development continues Treveth’s commitment to delivering homes for people who live and work in Cornwall, with local connection criteria used to prioritise local people for homes wherever applicable.
The mix of tenures will provide a range of housing options for people with different needs and circumstances, from affordable rented homes and alternative routes into home ownership, through to homes to buy and rent on the open market.
The 40 new properties will be built to Treveth’s high standards of quality and energy efficiency, with the development designed to create a sustainable new community.
The homes will incorporate modern, energy-efficient technologies including air source heat pumps, helping to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and support lower-carbon living.
The development will also incorporate landscaping and biodiversity measures as part of the wider site design, reflecting Treveth’s commitment to considering the environment alongside the delivery of new homes.
Situated in the heart of West Cornwall, Connor Downs is a well-established village with a range of local amenities, including a convenience store and village pub.
Hedhas Tewynnow is the latest development in Treveth’s growing residential portfolio, following the recent milestone of delivering more than 500 new homes across Cornwall.
Established by Cornwall Council, Treveth operates under its ‘In Cornwall, For Cornwall’ ethos, delivering homes and communities for the benefit of people who live and work in Cornwall, with profits reinvested into Cornwall’s public services.
Dominic O’Neill, Development Director at Treveth, said:
“We’re really pleased to see work getting underway at Hedhas Tewynnow. Reaching the start-on-site stage is an exciting milestone and we’re looking forward to seeing the development take shape over the coming months.
“Connor Downs is a well-established community and this development will provide 40 much-needed new homes for the area, helping more people to find a home in this part of Cornwall.”
Brendon Cocking MCIOB, Construction Director at Sureflow Building Services, said:
