Bellway’s Hedworths Green at Lambton Park development in County Durham has won the Gold Award for Best Exterior Design at the What House? Awards, being described by the judges as ‘elegant, confident, and timeless’.
The development is a new-build project within the historic 1,200-acre Lambton Estate and has been designed with a range of traditional architectural styles, to look as if it has evolved organically over centuries.
Bellway Durham Managing Director, Frank Lincoln, said:
“I can tell from the judges’ comments that they have understood the unique brilliance of Hedworths Green at Lambton Park, and we are delighted to have been honoured and recognised with this award from What House?. “Our meticulous and sensitive approach to this heritage site has paid dividends and I am immensely proud of all those who have been part of this project. I’d like to congratulate and thank them for their hard work and attention to detail.”
The development lies within the historic country estate which is the ancestral seat of the Earls of Durham. It is part of a wider redevelopment of the site of the former Lambton Lion Park which was open at the estate from 1972 to 1980.
The What House? Awards took place on Friday 21 November at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House hotel in Mayfair, London, hosted by television presenter Gabby Logan. More than 1,000 industry professionals attended the event. The awards are now in their 45th year.
