A housing development in Brentry is contributing more than £670,000 towards local infrastructure, community facilities and services through Section 106 agreements, as the housebuilder unveils enhanced financial support on homes at the site.
David Wilson Redrow South West has confirmed that its Charlton Common development will deliver the six-figure sum as part of planning obligations designed to mitigate the impact of new homes on the local area.
Alongside the community funding, the developer is offering increased support for buyers on selected properties at the development, with up to £35,000 available through a combination of incentives.
These include Deposit Boost, Bank of Family and an Armed Forces Deposit Contribution, as well as a ‘£10,000 to spend your way’ offer, which can be used towards a deposit, home upgrades or Stamp Duty.
The housebuilder has also strengthened its Part Exchange scheme. It will now consider properties worth up to £500,000 and has doubled the incentive paid once a buyer’s existing home is sold to £1,000. An event explaining the scheme will take place at the development on Saturday 21 February from 10am – 5.30pm.
The incentives are being launched amid renewed activity in the housing market. Property portal Rightmove reported a surge in buyer enquiries and new listings in the final quarter of last year, reflecting improved confidence following recent economic uncertainty. Louise Ware, sales director for David Wilson Redrow South West, said:
“Section 106 contributions are an important part of delivering new homes responsibly, ensuring investment goes back into the local community.
“At the same time, we know that deposits and property chains remain the biggest barriers for many buyers. By enhancing our deposit and Part Exchange support, we’re helping people overcome those challenges so they can secure a new home sooner.
“With interest rates stabilising and mortgage rates easing, alongside the range of incentives available, moving is becoming more achievable than many people realise.”
