Cast Iron radiators characteristics of retaining heat over a longer period are ideally suited with the lower flow temperatures associated with modern heating systems like ground and air source heat pumps.

Why correct sizing matters

Radiator sizing is essential to ensure both comfort and efficiency.

Undersized radiators will struggle to reach the desired room temperature, while oversized units can waste energy and operate inefficiently. In larger spaces, it’s often more effective to install two smaller radiators at opposite ends of the room to provide even heat distribution.

Tailored for your interior

• Tall Wood Panelling: Avoid overlap by selecting a radiator slightly lower in height than the panelling.
• High Skirting Boards: Opt for taller models like the 760mm or 810mm 4- Column designs to maintain proportion.
• Narrow Spaces (e.g. Hallways, Landings): Choose slim models such as the 2 Column Victorian, Rathmell, or Narrow Eton for a space-saving yet stylish solution.
• Under Windowsills: Aim for a 40–100mm gap below the windowsill for a balanced, visually appealing fit. See below.
