Work has started on a flagship housing development in the heart of Stevenage, following planning approval from Stevenage Borough Council.
Top 10 UK housebuilder, Keepmoat, has broken ground at the site to create 38 high-quality new homes as part of a multi-million pound investment to transform land off Redcar Drive.
Keepmoat will deliver a unique mix of three and four-bedroom homes, offering views of Medway Park, as well as an apartment block.
Throughout the build, Keepmoat will invest in the local supply chain, supporting jobs and businesses across the region and building on its recent delivery of the 57-home Fairlands Gate scheme off Bedwell Crescent, just two miles away. Across these two schemes Keepmoat have helped to deliver 27 affordable homes for the borough.
Victor Idowu, Regional Managing Director, South Midlands, said:
“We’re delighted to see work get underway at Redcar Drive as we break ground at a development that will bring much-needed new homes to the heart of Stevenage.
“At Keepmoat, we’re proud to be partnering with Stevenage to deliver a mix of tenures that responds to the needs of local residents. For us, placemaking is about more than building homes – it’s about breathing new life into existing communities and making the most of pockets of land to create places where people want to live, work and grow.
“We look forward to seeing this development take shape and playing our part in creating a high-quality, sustainable community for local families, first-time buyers and those in need of affordable housing.”
Keepmoat is a top 10 UK partnership homebuilder with a track-record of delivering quality homes in regions across the UK. To date, Keepmoat has built over 35,000 homes, transforming brownfield sites into thriving new communities.
