The design of new properties being built by Ashberry Homes on the western edge of Darlington can be seen in a series of computer-generated images newly released by the housebuilder.
Ashberry Homes is building 147 properties at Serenity at Baydale Village, as part of the first phase of a project which is planned to create a new neighbourhood of up to 985 homes off Staindrop Road.
The development will comprise 114 two, three, four and five-bedroom houses and two-bedroom bungalows for private sale, including 27 houses which are more accessible and adaptable for those with disabilities. There will also be 33 two to four-bedroom affordable homes.
There will be electric vehicle charging points to encourage the use of greener transport, and an orchard is also being built within the development to promote biodiversity and community wellbeing.
Emma Chesterton, Sales Director for Ashberry Homes, said:
“The new homes at Serenity at Baydale Village have been designed to complement their peaceful rural setting, while the development has been planned with beautiful green open spaces, footpaths and trees, including an orchard, to make this a highly attractive place to live.
“We have now released the first homes for sale and are already seeing a considerable amount of interest from people looking for a new energy-efficient home on the edge of the picturesque Durham countryside, yet within easy reach of Darlington’s many amenities.
“Work is now well underway on site, and we anticipate the first residents will be able to move into their new homes in spring 2027.”
There’s currently a choice of three and four-bedroom houses available to reserve at Serenity at Baydale Village, with prices starting from £259,995.
The wider neighbourhood has been planned with proposed facilities such as a GP surgery, shop, sports pitches and land for a primary and early years school.
