MAX FRANK Egcobox® are non-combustible concrete-to-concrete structural thermal break units, supplied with stone wool insulation (Fire classification A1) as standard in the UK. The stone wool insulation is Hydrophobic, offering excellent water repellent properties, and its thermal and fire-resistant properties are therefore not compromised when in contact with moisture.
The British Board of Agrément have reissued the MAX FRANK Egcobox® BBA certificate, meaning it has been reviewed against the latest Regulations and Standards.
Egcobox® ensures fire safety, thermal resistance of the building and structural compliance – and has been designed and installed on key projects worldwide for decades.
Many major specifiers, contractors and developers recognise MAX FRANK’s service, product quality and comprehensive pricing as significant business benefits. Our specialist Egcobox® team are on hand to answer any questions, however technical, you may have.
MAX FRANK thermal breaks are non-combustible & meet REI 120:
MAX FRANK Egcobox® units comprise stone wool insulation (Fire classification A1) as standard. The plastic protection caps can be removed during site installation. We are proud of our dedication to ensure the highest possible fire safety standards when it comes to thermal breaks. Known for its non-combustibility and incredible fire resistance, stone wool insulation does not burn and has a high melting point of over 1,000°C – and thus;
- Stone wool does not produce toxic fumes
- Stone wool does not produce smoke
- Stone wool can therefore help in containing and slowing the spread of fire and smoke
Using non-combustible construction solutions is a responsible design decision, especially for high-risk situations with multiple occupancy buildings and densely populated areas, including those with vulnerable occupants such as in health and education sectors.
Hydrophobic properties:
- The stone wool insulation offers excellent water repellent properties. It does not swell or distort when wet, so its physical appearance and performance is therefore unaffected by unpredictable weather on site.
Thermal resistance:
- The BBA certificate states that incorporating MAX FRANK thermal breaks contributes to limiting heat loss and reduces the risk of surface condensation.
- Stone wool is durable and its non-combustibility performance lasts a lifetime, with no maintenance required. So, this incredible insulation continues to limit heat loss and reduces the risk of surface condensation throughout its service life.
Structural compliance ensured:
- MAX FRANK Egcobox® is a structurally-sound solution – a guarantee reinforced by BBA certification.
CPD Seminar: Fire compliant thermal breaks
Presented by MAX FRANK’s thermal break specialist, Simon Howland, our CPD presentation covers not only structural aspects of BBA certified thermal break units and the way in which they work within concrete structures, but also the paramount importance of the fire safety aspects of A1 non-combustible stone wool insulation. To arrange a seminar, or to request further information, call Simon directly on 07775 832689 or email cpd@maxfrank.co.uk
Tailored presentations can also be provided on request.
