Orbit has announced the appointment of a new Fundraising and Partnerships Manager, strengthening its commitment to supporting communities and sustaining successful tenancies.
Luke Coad joins the organisation with more than 10 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector, most recently as Senior Partnerships Officer for international development charity Practical Action, where he managed strategic and funding partnerships with corporations, institutions and foundations.
In his new role, Luke will focus on securing additional funding and resources to complement Orbit’s existing Community Investment budget, enabling the organisation to scale its impact and enhance customer experience. Luke will also play a key role in fostering collaboration, building innovative partnerships and creating opportunities for organisations to work together to deliver joined-up services for customers.
Orbit has a strong track record of working in partnership with housing associations, charities and community organisations to deliver holistic support that improves lives. This collaborative approach underpins initiatives such as Orbit’s community hubs, which provide customers with access to free, face-to-face support on a range of wellbeing issues, as well as spaces for community-led events and social groups.
Luke will lead the development and delivery of Orbit’s Fundraising Strategy, with a clear mandate to meet annual fundraising targets, diversify income streams and build long-term relationships with funders and delivery partners. His role will also champion innovation and shared working, ensuring Orbit continues to expand its reach and resources through strategic alliances.
Luke commented: “I’m really happy to have joined Orbit and excited to grow our partnerships, secure new funding, and help to deliver even more meaningful support to our customers. I can’t wait to get started and connect with organisations that want to make a difference.
