Orbit has secured external recognition from the ILM for two of its flagship leadership programmes, marking a key step in its drive to strengthen professional skills across the organisation.
The programmes – Management Essentials and Leadership Potential: Unlocked – have both achieved ILM Assured status, recognising the quality and rigor of the learning experience while supporting current and aspiring leaders to develop the knowledge, confidence and behaviours needed to deliver high-quality services for customers and communities.
The courses form part of a growing suite of learning and development initiatives that Orbit is introducing in response to the Competence and Conduct Standard. They also support the ambitions of the Everyday Excellence transformation programme; a major initiative focused on embedding the right culture, capability, systems and processes to ultimately provide amongst the best customer experience of any housing association.
Lisa Golds, Head of Learning and Talent Development at Orbit commented: “We cannot deliver what our customers need and value without passionate, skilled leaders who are empowered to make a difference. That’s why we remain committed to creating a great place to work, one where colleagues have the right tools, training and support to thrive and to deliver on our purpose.
“At a time when the housing sector is placing increasing emphasis on professionalism, accountability and skills development, the ILM accreditation provides external validation that our programmes meet rigorous quality benchmarks, ensuring that the learning is robust, relevant and grounded in best practice. For colleagues, this means the opportunity to gain recognised credentials that enhance their professional standing, support career progression and build confidence in their leadership capability.
“Ultimately, our focus on developing passionate, skilled and empowered colleagues underpins our ability to deliver on our ambition of providing amongst the best customer experience of any housing association.”
Joe Bell from ILM added: “It’s fantastic to see that Orbit have successfully met our rigourous Assured benchmark standards with these programmes. It demonstrates a real commitment to their leadership development at time when the housing sector is driving for increased professionalism and accountability. We look forward to continuing to work together with Orbit and seeing the real impact of this project”.
