Work has started in Sandymoor to deliver almost 200 new homes, representing a £44.5 million investment from top 10 housebuilder Keepmoat.
40 of the homes will be delivered through a section 106 agreement scheme in partnership with Magenta Living, to create affordable options and meet growing demand in the area.
Set to transform disused land off Windmill Hill Avenue, Keepmoat was selected as the preferred development partner by Homes England to bring forward this site to deliver a mix of 1, 2, 3 and 4-bedroom multi-tenure homes.
The housebuilder is creating new pedestrian and cycle paths to link into the existing networks alongside the creation of new open green spaces and public play parks.
71 homes will be constructed using Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) timber frames, supporting improved energy efficiency and build quality.
Peter Barlow, Regional Managing Director at Keepmoat North West, said:
“We’re pleased to be working with our new partner Magenta Living to help provide a diverse range of affordable homes at Meadowbrook, also representing a significant investment in the area.
“At Keepmoat we’re committed to creating new communities and working with strategic partners, such as Homes England, to unlock sites and deliver homes reflective of the needs of the community.”
Libby Eastley, Growth and Development Director at Magenta Living added:
“Partnering with Keepmoat on this development is an important step in our ambition to deliver 1,000 new homes before 2030.
“These 40 affordable homes in Sandymoor will provide high quality, energy efficient places to live and will help meet the growing need for good housing in the area. We are proud to play our part in bringing this site back into use, creating a vibrant new community and delivering more high-quality homes to the area.”
