Passive fire protection designed for movement

To support architects and developers working on curtain walling projects, Siderise Insulation – one of the leading providers of high-performance passive fire protection solutions – have developed a comprehensive offering.

Curtain wall facades are constantly moving due to forces such as wind loading, temperature changes and ground movement. In the event of a fire, this movement can be increased with the heat load causing elements to expand and distort. Therefore, it is vital that the firestopping measures installed within these systems can withstand this movement for the lifetime of the building with no loss of integrity or fit to protect both lives and property.

Developed to protect the gap between the curtain wall system and the floor slab, Siderise CW-FS Perimeter Barriers and Firestops for Curtain Walling are made from a uniquely manufactured vertical stonewool lamella that is pre-compressed under factory conditions. This allows the product to easily flex and recover, accommodating the dynamic movement of the facade for its lifetime.

Suitable for vertical and horizontal application, the dry-fix product is quick and simple to install. It is also fully tested to both EN 1364-4 (with EI 180 and EI 120 versions depending on specification) and ASTM E 2307 (EI 180) – meeting the requirements for UK, EU and UAE regulations.
