Residential development in Peterborough celebrated by local authority for building excellence

A Peterborough housing development has been awarded a host of industry accolades for its building excellence.

Hampton Water, a residential community in South Peterborough, has won six Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Building Excellence Awards.

Leading independent property developer, Morris Homes, is behind the scheme and has been praised for its talented workforce and commitment to excellence.

The development’s site team holds a strong track record in delivering a high-quality environment, being recently awarded LABC’s monthly recognition for the third time since work began in 2023.

And in 2024 Morris Homes received the coveted ‘Development of the Year – 11 – 50 units’ at LABC’s annual excellence celebrations.

The awards recognise the very best developments, construction practices and workmanship of developers, builders and contractors.

Among the development’s accolades, Site Manager Sean Sadler was also acknowledged for his hard work, taking home ‘National Site Manager of the Year’ at the LABC Grand Finals, which were held last Friday at Grosvenor House in London.

Coinciding with high praise from judges, the recognition adds to Sean’s growing collection. He was awarded the same accolade in the regional competition for his work at Hampton Water late last year.

Comprising 2-, 3-, and 4-bedroom homes, Hampton Water is surrounded by natural beauty, with homeowners treated to lakeside views from their doorstep and the picturesque Crown Lakes Country Park a short walk away.

While many of the properties have been sold, some of the homes are still available for purchase. Prices start from £220,750.
Peterborough city centre is reachable by car in just 15 minutes, offering residents a host of amenities at their disposal including pubs, restaurants, and shops.

The development provides easy access to the A1 (M) for commuting, while the surrounding area serves as an educational hub, with excellent schools available and the historic University of Cambridge within driving distance.

Sean Sadler, Site Manager at Morris Homes Hampton Water, said:
“It’s a real honour to receive this recognition and to see the whole team’s hard work celebrated. At Morris Homes we take great pride in delivering homes of the highest quality and these awards reflect the commitment that goes into every stage of the build. “We’re proud to develop Hampton Water into the fantastic community it has become.”

Joanne McGarvey, Sales Director at Morris Homes, said:
“It’s fantastic to have been recognised so many times for our outstanding work at Hampton Water. It’s a true testament to our team, who have worked tirelessly to deliver such a flourishing residential community.

“The development offers great amenities on its doorstep, beautiful scenery, and seamless transport links to Peterborough, Cambridge and beyond. We’re confident it sets the standard for new build homes across the region and it’s great to see external audiences agree.”

The LABC Awards celebrate the highest levels of achievement by companies operating in all sectors of the property and real estate industry.

For Morris Homes, the recognition underlines its growing reputation for creating residential communities from the ground up which meet the needs of modern-day families.
