Leading homebuilder Taylor Wimpey has donated over 14,000 socks, gloves, scarves and hats to homeless people across the UK this Christmas.
Through its Wrap Up Warm campaign, launched to support its national charity partners CRASH, St Mungo’s and CRISIS, Taylor Wimpey employees have delivered much needed items to 24 homelessness centres in England, Scotland and Wales.
The outerwear will help the charities to provide warmth and comfort to hundreds of vulnerable people at one of the hardest times of year.
Mike Allen, Corporate Partnerships Manager at CRASH charity said: “Christmas is a joyful time for many, but for others it can be especially hard. We are extremely grateful to Taylor Wimpey for their support in helping to keep homeless people warm in the colder months.
“Their efforts to donate warm clothing and accessories to homelessness centres across the UK will help to provide some comfort to those who need it most at this time of year.”
Anne Billson-Ross, Group HR Director at Taylor Wimpey, said: “All year round, our national charity partners work tirelessly to tackle important issues including homelessness, and we strive to make positive contributions to the communities where we build new homes.
“We believe that we can make amazing things happen when we work collaboratively and I’m proud of each and every one of our regional teams who have come together to get behind our Wrap Up Warm campaign. We hope that our collective contribution will help to make a real difference to those who need it this Christmas.”
