VMZINC has been used as a material for roofing, facades and rainwater systems throughout the world since 1837. Over the last few decades certification of VMZINC systems have multiplied and include:
- BS EN 988 which give details on the specification of the zinc itself
- BS EN 501 which outlines specifications for fully supported zinc roofs
- Code of Practice 143-5 which outlines good practice for zinc roof and wall coverings
In addition, this attractive non painted metal has environmental product declaration for all pre-weathered finishes, which also confirm that the products are A1 non-combustible, have a service life of 100 years and 96% of zinc is recycled.
Furthermore, VMZINC has 4 Brooft4 tests for various build ups, systems and roof slopes as well as A2 (limited combustibility) systems for facades (including build up) using most VMZINC wall panels. Both the Structural roof and Compact roof (warm roof construction) also have full BBA system certification.
All VMZINC production plants and services conform to both ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.

Last but not least, at the end of 2024 the skill of the zinc roofer was given UNESCO world heritage status. Whilst this honour is more for the zinc installers of Paris, all skilled specialist installers can take pride in this recognition. VM ZINC works with partner VMZINC@WORK installers who have a known track record of successfully installing zinc and can benefit from a 50 year material warranty.
